Off to the IOW for the weekend. Decided to hire a car (£24 per day :) ) So it's off to black gang chine with the kids and maybe Carrisbroke castle.

I am fairly familiar with the restaurants of Cowes and Yarmouth so since we are not restricted to places near the marina can any recommend a good place to eat outside of Cowes or Yarmouth?

Buddle Inn, St Catherine's

Crikey! That's loads!

Thanks for the recommendations.

I might do a completely perverse thing for a boaty to do and drive to Newtown Creek* and try the pubs there. Someone off-forum recommended the Horse and Groom, is the new inn better?

*Her Indoors doesn't like anchoring so I need to prove to her that is flat there all the time :)

...my choice would still be Buddle Inn, especially as you are going to be south of the island anyway... after lunch you could have a nice walk down to St Catherines point...
