Hi All,
I have a Residence Permit for one year which expires in September. I used my boat and marina address as proof of residence. I would like to renew the permit for a three year permit but I have been told that I am only allowed a one year permit because I am a boat owner. Any advice greatly appreciated

Good evening:

After having 16 one year permits because that was the length of my contract I was shocked when I last applied for a re-newal in April and was asked "how long?". When I asked what that meant I was told I could have a permit for between one and five years. In shock, I stammer out "three years, please" and returned a few days later to pick up a three year permit.

Don't think the old rules apply as there have been a number of changes included a long term permit if you have been here for more than eight years.

Cheers

We have just renewed our permit in Alanya for two years after just one year in Turkey. We don't have a marina contract, all that was needed was a transit log - and that only had three months left on it. In some places they are demanding a one year transit log - and then they are happy to give you a 5 year permit!!!!!
