Resi mooring in Reading

Just wondering whether anyone knows of any possible long stay/residential moorings within walking distance of Reading? (apart from Tescos of course)

would be for a boat up to 40', beam up to 12'

I think T and K is possible for longish stays aboard (although not residential) which would do; hell of a walk into Reading though to commute!

T and K has proper residential berths lots of barges there with liveaboards, anywhere else though which is not a paid berth and you will become the problem everybody on here gets upset about.
You could try Better Boating or Fry's Island however if you have a BW license you would be better off going up the K&A there are usualy a few spaces in the basin behind the prison, not very secure mind.

Chris_D do you mean by the tow-path near the abbey; I am guessing that the NBs there are "permanent cruisers" who don't cruise very far... I was looking around there, but maybe something in the weir stream of Blakes lock; there seem to be a few boats there. Not sure of their status though?

Yes near the Abbey on the "loop" have moored a crusier there years ago for visits to the shops. Tanya is the Caversham lock keeper

There is a small amount of mooring space (suitable for a Dory) at the tail end of Caversham lock island (in the weir pool) that you may be able to make use of. From there it's a short walk across the lock gates and up to Reading bridge. T&K is 10 minutes by river. Not a bad commute by Reading standards...
