just got back home after being rescued by the combined efforts of Coastguard and RNLI. We picked up a jumble of loose pot line of south stack , Holyhead. Well and truly wrapped between the duo props. Tried to cut it off and was doing quite well until the knife broke. Dropped the hook and called the Coastguard who coordinated the Treaddur Bay lifeboat. The whole operation was brilliantly coordinated , calming and reassuring. It’s the first time in 5 decades of boating I’ve had to ask for help and my apologies were brushed aside by the good humoured 4 man crew. They towed us back to Holyhead marina and helped us moor at a pontoon.
What a service and I can only say we feel humbled , me and Hunnypie, by the efforts of all concerned. Large delivery of cakes tomorrow to both stations.
The marina staff and yacht club had been monitoring the proceedings and turned up to help . It’s this kind of thing that restores your faith in human nature, one of the guys who was have his evening dip swam over and finished the untangling.
No doubt the people involved in this episode won’t read any of this but still hats off and thankyou.
