WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THOSE WHO SENT" HELPFUL ADVICE "I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT I WAS BEING FLIPPANT IN MY REMARKS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT,AS IT APPEARS THAT A FEW TOOK A RATHER WORRIED VIEW OF MY PROPOSED INSTALATION !
HAVING DECIDED TO FIT AN INBOARD DIESEL NEXT WINTER I WAS SEEKING USEFUL HELP BY WAY OF SHARING THE EXPERIENCES OF OTHERS TO AVOID PITFALLS IN SO DOING.
I DO HAVE WHAT AMOUNTS TO 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN TRADES RELATING TO ENGINEERING,CAR AND COMMERCIAL ACCIDENT REPAIRS AND JIG WORK ,ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING ,VEHICLE RE-PAINTING ,PLUMBING AND GAS FITTING SO HOPEFULLY WITH SOME FREINDLY ADVICE AS ASKED FOR TO POINT OUT POSSIBLE PROBLEMS ALL SHOULD BE WELL.
JUST A FEW POINTS TO EASE WORRIED MINDS ENGINE SELECTED IS YANMAR DIESEL YSB 12 OLD BUT SOUND,FLEXIBLE COUPLNG TO REDUCE VIBRATION AND ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS AND AS IT APPEARS THAT A CERTAIN ENGINEERING COMPANY IN DORSET IS NOT VERY HELPFUL I SHALL BE MAKING USE OF A FRIENDS ENGINEERING WORKSHOP AND FABRICATING ITEMS SHAFT ETC AS REQUIRED.
HOPE THOSE THAT WERE WORRIED CAN NOW SLEEP OK AND THANKS VERY MUCH TO ALL FOR COMMENTS

People do not know your experience, maybe you should have told people you have the abilities to do what you have proposed. I think the answers you recieved were of good calibre, it is a shame you have taken it this way.

Good luck with your installation, don't forget the sundry items that will invalidate the warranty if not fitted, water trap. anti syphon, fuel filters. Also to comply with regs iso 7840-A2 rated fuel hose you will fail survey without this.

And, this one will get you, After I fitted my engines my insurer started to get itchy and demanded the installations be inspected by a competant person, they would not accept that I was a competant person even though I studied marine engineering for 2 years. They let go after I had the boat surveyed.
