Replacing Westerly Griffon Mk1 running rigging.

Looking to replace the running rigging on my newly acquired Griffon.
The standing rigging is being replaced by a local rigger, so that's in hand.
Rigger has quoted £71 for main halyard and £78 for genoa halyard, ready spliced and fitted with eye/shackle.
Is this a reasonable quote?
What size and dimensions should the running rigging be and what types of rope should I be looking at using?
Any dimensions and suggestions on the various lines fitted would be useful, especially if anyone here has recently replaced theirs and have the dimensions to hand!

Depends on what type of rope they are using. 10mm braid on braid with a stainless eye would be sub £50 delivered from somewhere like Outdoor Xscape

Would both be 10mm braid on braid. You can get a quote on line from Jimmy Green for comparison, but those prices are not way out of line.

However, you can buy rope by the metre much cheaper - you need between 25-30m depending per halyard on whether you have them at the mast or back to the cockpit. The splices are not so easy if you have never done them and don't have the kit, but if you want to keep costs down you can use a halyard knot (there are instructions on the Selden site) to attach them to the sail.

It's worth considering Dyneema if the budget will stretch (no pun intended). It certainly stops the halyards from needing to be tightened during the course of a longish passage.
