Replacing Teak Decks

Avoiding a discussion about whether to use real teak or not, has anyone any experience of using "Zycore" adhesives instead of Sikaflex?

The nice people at KJ Howells suggest Zycore as an alternative.

Judging by recent threads from Guapa re teak decks, yes, you are, completely. The search facility will bring it up.

It appears to be based on MS polymer technology. If that's Microsoft, steer well clear!

Also says it must be over painted within 6 hours. Not normal to paint deck seams.

Unless there's a huge cost saving compared with Sika, I'd stick (ho-ho) with the tried and tested product.

Don't forget the old adage about not spoiling ships for ha'poth of tar.
