Hi,

I have a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 50DS from 2009.
I'm replacing the tru holes / sea cocks, and come across a metal ring.
It looks like it's part of the hull, but it could also be part of the old tru hole...

Do these rings come standard on the Jeanneau hull for reinforcement? Then I let them sit.

Or do they belong to the old skin fitting? So I have to remove them.

Kind regards!

Looks really odd: if the black plastic is the through-hull body why not a plastic ring inside as well? Where is this on the boat - underwater?

I’ve just replaced all of the Thru hulls on my 45DS with Trudesigns. It had those metal rings too and I managed to get them all off (one required a bit of persuasion!). I think that they were backing plates for the old metal Thru hulls. Boat back in the water and not leaking (so far…)
