Tinkerbell has an old QL bow thruster that works great. However, the rubber "boot" on the joystick is long past its sell by date and has pretty much crumbled away.
I've bought a replacement from these guys -

That's the exact controller we have.
However, I'm scratching my head over how to remove the remnants of the original boot and install the new one. How does one take the joystick off?? I've tried turning it as if to unscrew it, but it just turns and turns and turns...
Help please!
