Replacing mainsheet block and cam cleat

I have a Barton cruising (not ball bearing) triple block and becket with jammer and swivel at the bottom and a top double block with swivel, both with captive pin shackles, on my Sadler 29. They are more than enough!

If you don't want so much rope, you could try a rachet block.

I think you will find the Lewmar blocks swivel themselves - mine do

Barton are good value.
Selden have also now launched a range of blocks and cleats which also look to be good value and ronstan is another supplier that I've had good experience with.
Whatever you get, hose regularly with fresh water and that'll stop the build up of salt and grime and keep it running well for longer.

We've decided to go for the Barton fiddle snapshackle size 5 (P/N 15440) for the top and the fiddle snapshackle with becket and cam (P/N 15641) for the bottom. I'll let you know our own feedback in due course...
