Hi, I am in a process of redoing the interior of my new boat (1985 16' Starcraft). I will be replacing the floor since it feels a bit soft. I'm trying to figure out what kind of wood to use to replace it with. I've read a post that treated plywood may affect aluminum. So, can I just use standard plywood from Home Depot (there are two types: BC and CDX, BC being sanded and more expensive), then cover it with deckseal or polyurethane? Thanks.

You could us an exterior rated ply as used in construction sites, the glue used is the key ingredient, it must be water resistant.

To prevent it rotting it would need to be epoxy treated on both sides and all edges, the topside would need painting (after priming) as epoxy is not UV stable.

there is a laminated ply that you can yous from kayspruce suppliers hamble you can find them on the net . and sealing the ply you can yous epyseal if you call Marian ware southampton they are the suppliers all the best john shaw
