I am looking to replace my trusty Hurley 20 with a new bigger boat. I want a new boat purely because I am suffering from boatshow-itis and want a new shiny bit of plastic bobbing up and down in the marina.

I am looking at spending around 45K and have looked at the Jeanneau 29.2 or Legend 306 (groan!). Does anyone know about the Jeanneau ? (Or the Legend. Mind you, they don't seem very popular in this forum).

Thanks

Brian

Brian , just because this forum doesn't think much of them , it doesn't make them a bad buy. It all depends on what style of sailing you do and how you are planning to use whatever boat you buy. I'm afraid I can't help though with the boats you mention as I've little knowledge of either though in this months' PBO , there was an article about 2 people who bought similar boats to the ones you mentioned. You might find it helpful .

Can't say I like them, can't say I hate them, just not my type of boat.
Only way is go round all the dealers, go aboard, pick the boats that you feel right in, get a test sail, look up the boat tests, look at the brokers, how are they selling.
At the end of the day, your the only one who has to live with it, if your not comfortable it does not matter how shiney it looks bobbing in the marina.
