Replacement Speedo

I've currently got a NASA Clipper speedo - paddle wheel type - which repeatedly fouls up and stops working so I use an app on my mobile on the dash to display my SOG. Has anyone found a stand alone (not needing any external plotter NMEA type input) device to replace them? Ideally one that would fit in the same hole on the dashboard? I've found lots of import ones but they all show MPH or KPH instead of knots.

One of us is confused (might be me, it's late). Isn't the NASA thing for STW ? SOG is derived from GPS.

SOG is speed. COG is course over ground. I want to know my speed.

The example you gave (but thanks for the reply) is 52mm and wouldn't really be a suitable replacement for a Clipper.

I think what PaulRainbow meant is that what you've got with the NASA paddlewheel is STW rather that SOG, and COG was just a typo.
Of course it may be fine for you to replace STW with SOG, but they aren't exactly same type of speed.
If you'd like to get STW with no paddle wheel and its fouling, a transducer like the one posted by Tranona is the way to go.

COG was a typo (as spotted by MapisM).

The example i have was just one of thousands if you do the search.

But you need to decide if you want STW or SOG
 
Thanks for the clarification and the clipper one shown looks like it would do the job.

What I had been leaning towards was a GPS model which should be a lot cheaper although would replace STW reading with SOG reading. However for local coastal use I mostly make of one (e.g. checking against harbour speed limits) would be fine. I haven't found a decent one of this size though.
