anyone got an idea of how to cost and go about replacing a rubrail on a 1999 Sunseeker Superhawk????

The boatlift in the marina has banged into it denting the rail but not the GRP. Marina has accepted liability and will pay for replacement.

It needs replacement and not repair because the steel it too badly squashed to "hammer out" and make good.

I am not sure if I actually want to replace it or if I just take the cash...but I want the cash to accurately reflect the damage.

Anyone got any idea on cost for a new rail??? (I am goint to ask Sunseeker but as it is an out of production boat I don't know if they can still be got)

What sort of labour charge to fit????

Where do you get rubrails from???? Are they specially fabricated for Sunseeker or does someone like Vetus make them????

Cheers

Hi, most boat manufactuers by in the fendering - is it aluminium or stainless, does it have a rubber insert ? If you can send me a close up picture I may be able to get it or point you in the right direction. They are usually supplied in 12ft lengths.

Hmmmm not sure about pic problem....anyway....

Burnham on Crouch...at the moment I want to get some indicative costs for the whole job.

Marina will either pay ££££ and say sorry or will do parts and labour.

I might just take the cash as the damage isn't too great...but I want to get the right amount of money.

Marina say £2,500 all in.
