Hi Forum.
I have a Prestige 32 which needs the Horn replacing (click at the Horn button but nothing happens) . Could anyone tell me if it is a 12v or 24v I need to replace it with
Thanks

Is it an air horn or electric (sorry, both electric really as the air is pumped by an elec motor). If air, then might just need the water cleared from the air hose?

Sorry for the silly question, but did you check whether the compressor can be heard pumping?

I had twice an issue with my horn, first I thought the compressor was bust. But after dismantling the trumpet it appeared that some insects had installed their nest in there (extracted a big bundle of whiteish cotton). The horn survived both insect attatcks and works again. Model is a MA1-S Single brass chromed horn from Marco. Costs probably around €100.

Thanks for the responses, I bought the boat and the horn has never worked, when I push the button I do get a clicking noise from the button but no Horn noise.
I will take the horn off at the weekend and try to determine what type of horn it is

If electric, just take it apart and clean the contacts inside with some emery paper or wet & dry.
They're like a set of points that used to be fitted to cars in the past.

Keep cleaning then measure the resistance across the points until it's down to less than 1 ohm.
Spray with WD40, then reassemble. Use grease on the gasket.
Assuming your relay is OK (hence the clicking) all should be well.

No need to buy a new one, they're significant money now.
