Replacement hatch glass sealant

I have a forehatch approx 500 x 500 mm. When I bought the boat the acrylic was crazed and I replaced it with 12 mm polycarbonate. First time I used sikafix 291? This forms a layer about 4mm thick between the frame and the polycarbonate. The sikafix lasted about three seasons before the adhesion was lost, and water began to find a way in. I have since tried again, following the instructions to the letter, using the cleaner and primer before the sikafix, but again the adhesion to the polycarbonate has been lost and water is getting between the polycarbonate and adhesive.

What should I try for my third attempt? Once again with the expensive cleaner primer and sikafix?

Or would silicon sealant be as good?

Simson ISR 70-03 with some of their Prep-G on the polycarb. It's a Bostik product. PM me if you need more dope on it.

You should have used Sikaflex 295 UV. UV resistant and does not contain solvents that will affect acrylic or polycarbonate glazing
