The Grundfos pump on our barge has stopped working, and we are using our fall-back Jabsco Max Par 2.9.

I'm wondering whether to get the Grundfos repaired, given that it is horribly noisy and uses lots of amps, although it is powerful. As an alternative, I'm tempted by the spec of the Jabsco VFlo Constant Pressure Water System Pump, which would give nearly double the flow of the MAX Par 2.9 - maybe enough to fill the bath and allow a kettle to be filled from another tap, and might not keep switching on and off when drawing off a trickle of water.

I'd welcome any knowledgeable advice.

But make sure you have some leather for the flap-valve - just about the only thing that goes wrong - 400 strokes for 150 gallons, we had one on our farm 1947-72 before the mains water came along.
Ensures no water is wasted and is outstandingly environmentally correct.

As I'd expect from such a morally upright person as VicS ;-)
