Does anyone have any idea how much a pair of new or reconditioned KAD42's or KAD44's might cost? Just roughly. And can you recommend where to source them?

Thanks,
Matt

...these will make the S24 a bit stern heavy, surely...

list price for each new KAD44 plus DPE drive is £21,103
KAD43's DPE's are a snip at £18,540 a shot
KAD42's aren't available new any more, only recon.

All prices incl VAT from your local friendly Volvo dealer.

Seriously, even the Volvo dealer will discount these prices substantially, and entering "Volvo Penta Reconditioned" into uk.yahoo.com shows up some likely candidates.

You wouldn't happen to be thinking about buying a larger, older, boat with knackered engines, would you ?

Lotsa laughs Dave!!! Yeah, I don't know how else to squeeze a few extra knots out of the S24, though she might look a bit low in the water!

Actually you're absolutely right, I may have found a little (oh ok, BIG) project involving a bigger boat to replace the Sealine but suspect the engines are likely to be knackered to the point that fiddling about replacing major components and getting everything inspected/serviced/cleaned/reconditioned might be just as expensive as replacing the lot in one go. I'm still doing the maths but having a ballpark target figure for replacement helps a lot.

Thanks for the info. Think the 44's will be out but reconditioned or heavily discounted 43's might be an option.
