Replacement Downlighter Lens

I have a missing frosted lens on one of my heads downlighters. I recall someone sourcing a made to measure replacement from the states for a couple of $ but can't find the thread. Can anyone recall who the supplier was or find the thread?

I purchased a new ceiling light fitting for the heads when we had the T34 and a like for like replacement for the original was sourced from IM Products, it was a cantalupi madrid stainless steel G4 spotlight, £25.63+VAT, www.improducts.co.uk

hm, any similar site with 56mm dia frosted glass for a broken LED downlighter I have???
this guy only sells up to 40mm dia which is way too small I guess for Pete as well!

cheers

thanks Pete!

I'd have to "cut" a bit like 2mm for around 20mm along the perimeter to fit through the second spring that holds the thing in place.
I wonder if I can use an angle grinder to grind a bit of glass  , anyone knows?

cheers

Thanks Dan. And it hasn't escaped my notice that you've gone all posh with your Targa 43! We need to see some pics!

Ha Ha! I must have pleased you by sticking with Fairline though, surely!

The T34 sold quickly in a private sale (thanks to volvopaul putting buyer in touch) and a very clean and tidy local T43 came up in my home marina. It’s a 2004 boat, always lived in Poole with just 2 local owners, it has 480bhp TAMD75p’s and for the cost of change (<40k) I’m well pleased.

Will miss the T34 though, we had a great couple of seasons and I think I will miss the performance element of the T34 on outdrives and the T43 on shafts will certainly hurt more at the pumps but hopefully will enable us to stay on board more (more room below is they key advantage, I think if anything in the cockpit we are losing some seating space). The dogs are making themselves at home anyway!

Yes you can cut it with an angle grinder but you need the correct diamond coated disc and the glass clamping to something solid.

Don't forget the correct type of dust mask as the fine particles can do serious damage if inhaled.

Looks lovely and I can't deny the incremental cost gets you a lot more boat. I wish I could do the same but I'd never be able to afford to go anywhere (or park it for that matter)!

Interesting what you say about T34 / T43 cockpit seating space.

Interesting what you say about T34 / T43 cockpit seating space.

This is approximately to scale and you will see that the cockpit layout of the T43 is not great - it doesn't take the seating into the corners and the sink/fridge/griddle on port side and a mahoosive table all take up a lot of room. The T34 therefore arguably has the better cockpit seating (where we spend a lot of our time)

Don't get me wrong, as I'm very happy with the T43 - we gain tender garage / sunpad, generator and bigger saloon/galley/bedroom/2xheads and overall the feeling of a more solid/sturdy boat.........but the one area it lets itself down slightly I feel is cockpit design / seating.
