I'm not going top make a big issue of this but I have never heard of nitrile swelling in water. Having been involved with nitrile liners for some very special and large Moineaux (Mono)pumps, for water service in sub-sea activities, I very much doubt it.
It will swell a little in hydrocarbons, and aromatic-free diesel, made for certain markets, has some esters specifically added to make this happen.
