Replacement calorifier

Installed a new Hotpot 3 years ago and very pleased with it. Boat is in Greece and the deciding factor was delivery by ASAP was far better than Surecal direct. In the event the calorifier delivered was slightly damaged and ASAP replaced with no hesitation. Delivery aside I wish I'd gone for Surecal because of the NRV and the connections. If hosetails rather than push fit was mentioned in the literature I looked at I missed it. My Moody has an accumulator in the cold system but nothing in the hot side. I ordered the 5L accumulator for the hot side that they specified but fitted the calorifier first. Immediately I was getting hot water through the cold taps for a short time which didn't seem sensible. When I fitted the accumulator in the hot side the problem went away but I must fit a NRV. And get a round tuit!

As i explained earlier, the Hotpot has no NRV, so it does not usually need an expansion tank, but you do get warm water through the cold tap for a short while, because the expanding hot water is pushed up the cold pipe. You are correct about the lack of detail with the fittings, even worse is the fact that the pictures on the ASAP site show pushfit connectors on the domestic connections. The hosetails can be removed though and pushfit connectors from the likes of Screwfix can be used.
