The bung I put in to clean my (nasa) paddle wheel. I lost mine in the bilge and can't find where to purchase another. Google searches have come up with all the other parts but not the bung. Does anyone know where I can buy one please?

Instead of doing Google searches, why not search your bilge? It's unlikely to have dropped out of the bottom of the boat.:D

Not sure it would be better than nothing, (except it would not sink) it would leave the inside of the tube exposed to growth and grit which might damage the O rings and prevent a good seal when you re fit the log, that's why the bung is a replica of the log.

No, but that would be better than nothing. The bit I had was a bung the same diameter and length as the paddle wheel assembly but without the paddle wheel which meant you could shove it in quick and lock in with a threaded cap.

I have searched the bilge, but there are some parts which are inaccessible, ie where the bung is! :(

But what transducer is it? there was a choice, if it is the triducer then I have a couple of spare bungs and some O rings kicking around from when I've replaced faulty transducers, there are two types, long & short.

Thanks David, the manual just gives fitting and operating instructions. I've also got some documents from Airmar but this seems to cover a wide range, and when I looked on the website (aimed at the American market it seems) I couldn't find much useful. When I'm down on the boat next I'll measure the paddle wheel assembly and get back to you, if that's okay?

Thanks

Colin

OK Colin, it is fairly easy to recognise the triducer as it does speed, depth and temperature, not a lot of use measuring the stem, unless you measure the inside (which should be bronze) as the hull thickness could disguise it. anyway if it is a triducer (Airmar B744V) then I can send you both as they are just taking up room.
