Replacement battery charger

You may find diiferences also in the configurable options as some allow/require you to set up a bunch of features.
Others are more general and if you leave the advanced types on the factory settingd anyway, you might not need the advanced level.

As usual, meeting your budget and requirements is "just right"

Yes, I get that - just didn't find any in their range that individually senses and regulate each of the isolated battery banks.

Their app seems nice, but wold be even better if reporting banks separately

If it's that important, fit more than one charger, would likely only need a smallish one for the engine battery. But, if the chemistry is similar enough to be able to use the same charging regime, i doubt there's really much point.

Also, some of the Victron models have the main part of the charger looking after the bigger domestic bank, but with a trickle charge to keep the engine battery topped up, can be a pricey option though.

Cost wise separate management is more expensive.

Also appreciate than when the majority of manufacturers use same management for multiple banks the more academic interest might not be very important.

My current Xantrex has the traditional design and has worked for 19 years. However, to preprare for a possible change, I was looking into the optins.

Hi,

I'm getting another Victron phoneix 50 Ah, the first one broke when it was about 10 years old, some components burned and the assessment was that it shouldn't be repaired because the other parts are also old.

I replaced a new one of the same type because it is easy to install in the "blug in play" style.

I don't know how many years the charger is supposed to work, all other electronics etc. work since 2009, so maybe the Victro's life cycle was short.
