replaceing boat carpets

Wool seems to get the vote

This carpet film is also brilliant.

Used it on the Targa. 5 mins to install each time we were on the boat. Kids could do anything they wanted. End of the trip, pull it up and stick it in the bin. No need to hoover!

You would not cover the whole saloon of a flybridge boat, but for the main wear areas it will keep wet feet of the carpet and things looking nicer.

You can keep it on for about 4 weeks before you risk passing the adhesive to the carpet.

We had cream 100 % wool in the Sunseeker and two kids under 10 .Wife vowed never again ! Sea water was the worst to stain it.
Also turned grubby v quickly and always a worry .
Next time arround if poss carpet ,all carpet inc more sensible colours like blue /brown -were out -along with finger Markey high gloss -cherry .
If it s flat why not bite te bullet and have an hard surface .
I was on a Pershing 108 recently and there was no carpet -few rugs buts that's even better -chuck em .

Here's a pic of teak n holly -it's from 2001 - gets wet , gets things drop on it -just wipes up

As an update:

In the end I went for a wool mix carpet - 80% wool/20% poly something from Westex.
I wanted to try and match the original colour as the carpet sits in grp mounded recesses that are coloured.
Westex do a number of grades and this is their second best.

Could have done it cheaper but worth it I think for nicer wool carpet.. Had them all edge bound and got them back today.
Really demonstrates how flat and hard my original carpets are. These feel much nicer underfoot and when I add some CL9 FR8 I think they'll be spot on and dampen noise a bit in the saloon.

Quick pic of the small bits - saloon carpet is too big to unfurl in the playroom
