repeater advice

I have a Raymarine RL70C colour plotter and radar on the lower helm station - what options are avialable for me for use on the flybirdge as a repeater station for this unit - at present the only item on the fly bridge is depth/speed and auto pilot.

get another RL70CRC asap while you can. I paid £725 delivered from yachtbits.co.uk to upgrade the downstairs mono one to colour. While this was excellent, it bummed me some, as I upgraded the old mono one upstairs last year, and it cost me £1650...

Depends if it is a basic standalone unit or has HSB. If it does then you install a repeater screen.

Good point. It's an RL not an SL, so has HSB networking already, but if old, it will need to be upgraded to HSB2 spec (i.e. RL70CRC+). Raymarine will do it for a reasonable amount of wedge...

If it is a RL70CRC Plus :

Then buy a HSB2 cable and screen quick before they all disappear.

If it is only HSB then that is OK for 2 screens:

if you email me the serial number off your existing display, i'll check to see what version of HSB your display is. (on tuesday)

All the new displays are HSB2.

if your display is one of the earlier HSB, then a factory upgrade will be needed and will cost you around £200.

We've got RL70CRC packages in stock, but they have all got a GPS antenna packaged with them now. Still only £845 inc vat though.

thanks Kevin, i am actually taking delivery of the boat on tuesday so i will email you the info, its a 2003 jeanneau prestige but i'll get the serial no anyway for your info.

Jim, HSB might well be OK for two screens, but you can no longer buy HSB (not HSB2) displays, and you can't mix them, so you would have to upgrade the old one in any event.
