I have a nice one piece 18m proctor mast. Since bought by Selden. However it's slowly developing chips from 22 years of service. What advice would you have for repairing such cosmetic blotches? Ideally not taking it down and having it entirely redone.

rub down locally, etching primer in a rattle can, then hammerite smooth white.
Just used hammerite smooth brushed on. Ive found out that it is relatively "inert" ie doesnt react with other stuff. If you wanted to be supersure use hammerite primer on top of the etch primer. The etch primer is essential due to the aluminiumThanks... have you used hammerite spray also? If not would you paint and then polish back to smooth?
That blistering is corrosion underneath the paint. That all needs to be cleaned back to bare metal as mentioned above but aluminium corrosion needs to be neutralized with Deoxidine-624 before the etch prime goes on.
