Honestly this is sailing related and not down to bedroom clothing.... BUT

Plastimo water tank split at the weekend, initially thought the stern gland had failed as we thrashed into wind 'n' tide with the engine groaning. But having tasted the water as fresh, deduced a failed tank - split in two places after 2 years!

Anyone have any advice for mending kits or adhesive? A quick search on the web revealed 'marine mending kits' for £15.00, so any thoughts gratefully received!

Thanks Ecoosse120, yet it has a separate bladder, but I'm hoping to reapir rather than replace if I can as the general condition of the seams and hose junctions is excellent..

Can't remember the name but a few years back I needed to repair a PVC buoyancy tank in a dinghy and I remember getting a tube of "PVC weld adhesive" from a dinghy chandler.

It worked entirely satisfactorily for the remainder of the time the dinghy was in my possession, 3-4 years. However I have no idea how that stuff would cope with the heavy burden of water sloshing about inside.

Still it couldn't have cost much and therefore is probably worht a try.
