My Victoria 26 has a green painted sheerline done by a previous owner.

Has anyone experience of repainting GRP - is it a chemical removal job or sand back to the gel coat and repaint?

Recommended paint?

Rub down, undercoat and 709 with radiator roller and good quality brush to finish.I did 34ft hull and it's not difficult.Lots of good advice from International Paints.Good luck

I was very pleased with the results.Terified of paint drips/orange peel etc ,took a while to pluck up the courage!I think I gave the hull 2 undercoat+2 topcoats. The key was in the preparation and flattening off with a "vibrating "sander, body shop type.Used 4" radiator rollers and followed along with brush to get rid of air bubbles.Did transom first as practice area.Basically followed the advice from the technical staff at International.Temp and humidity critical, one cold night ruined the days work. But it,s easy to rub down .The 34ft hull took 1hr per side to paint. And a week to prepare! The painting is the easy bit.
