Renting a boat while at university in London

How practical is it to rent a boat as accommodation for a student at university next year in central London. Any suggestions, contacts or agencies would be appreciated.

Try any of the estate agencies along the river, especially Chiswick, Teddington &c.

A couple of ''boatyards'' by Battersea Bridge on the North side ,they have pontoon barges to rent occasionally,but ain't cheap cos it's Chelsea innit.

We looked at this for our two a couple of years back but of the two boats then available "student lets" were excluded. The price was also high for the level of accomodation.

We bought a flat in docklands and our two med student sons co-inhabit surprisingly well!
