There's still a bit of life left in the window rubbers and I don't really want to change them at this stage - they do however look slightly worse for wear (only small leak) and I was wondering if anyone has painted anything on them to fill hairline cracks and leave them looking smarter.

Thanks

Tyre paint ??

But if they have cracks in them I'd think they were already overdue for replacement.

silicone grease rubbed along them every few weeks will help loads to revive protect and seal the rubbers, maybe only twice a year with new seals. do not use vaseline or anything petroleum based

I would use some sealant for fix the leak first, I used Plumbers Gold, easily available and will stick to glass and rubber even when wet.

When I sold my old MG I used cellulose thinners Very carefully wiped over the rubbers with a cloth. It removes the top layer of rubber and makes it look much smarter/blacker.

But with cracks in the rubber I would have thought you were better off replacing them. If you buy the correct insertion tools they are not too difficult to fit.

Tyre paint could be a goer, cracks are v. fine so should last another season.

Will remember silicon grease after renewal

Thanks
