hi all

has anyone removed a tv like in the picture from a fairline with the same set up as mine, I want to remove the tv and fit a slightly larger tv with no speakers down the side so I end up with a bigger picture

problem is I cannot work out how to get to the back of the tv to remove it as every avenue I seem to explore comes to a dead end

also I presume the draw below the tv without the push push button fitted is just a blanking plate it wobbles about but I cannot open it which seems a bit of a waste to me

Never mind the tv, how the hot water situation, has it turned into a "hot water" case?

I'd say there must be a panel underneath the unit that comes off so you can get your arm up the back of the tv facia board.

someone checking the hot water tomorrow

looked at the panel below the tv but nothing looks like it comes apart, obviously it must some how but before I go any further wondered if anyone else had removed similar

Suck... Eggs... Not... but here goes anyway,

I assume the door left to the telly houses the radio? Have you tried removing it to reach to the back of the telly?

Also are you sure the tv doesn't just lift up and out or that there isn't a lever, etc. behind it that locks the telly into it's cradle?

:)

don't think the radio cupboard is the answer too far to try and reach round blind so to speak

not tried to lift the tv off as I think its fixed some how seems solid enough

Shawn, can you get at the TV mounting from the opening cupboard door, below the blanking finisher? Is it a drawer or a cupboard? Our Snazi has 3 drawers, which will pull all the most like kitchen drawers.

It's gonna be something obvious when you see it, but a bit hidden to begin with. Here's another two to try, knowing Fairline's tricks.

1. The cherry "drawer panel" that wobbles a bit. It is likely attached using 4 brass ball catches. Just pull it off very hard.

2. If you can't get to the back of the TV (and you're sure about that?) then attack from the front. Look at the black formica covered plywood panel behind the TV, that the TV is bolted to. Can you see a joint/an edge? If yes, the plywood might be clicked onto 4 brass ball catches. Just prise the TV off, by getting hold of it and pulling with quite hard force, and that will pop the black plywood panel free of the ball catches. Also see if it is better to start prising at bottom - there is possibly access there to get your fingers behind the black plywood panel and pull it off and possibly screws hidden behind black plastic caps

EDIT - here is what I mean by ball catch of the type fairline use

There must be a good size of storage behind that tv that's not useable, why not mount a new tv so it can swing out the way to allow access to it. Bit more room for nics cleaning gear.

Thought you had a no gold rule?!?!

Factory will be helpful ,I have telephoned / e-mailed SS re tech issues and obscure parts -straight through -Fairline should be no different .
They ask for serial No -helps
There's a mount out there - rigid whereby the TV is clipped onto a horizontal H frame .one part attached to the wall/ boat other screwed to Tv - press fit -click on you can slide it L+ R ,but not vertical or swing / angle -designed to mount them in tight places like that .
To remove look underneath ( ie remove that draw ) approx 20 cm in from the end you will see or feel two straps hanging down , they look like plastic ladders -
Pull these two down 2-3 cm and the clip will unclip at the bottom - enabling you to lift it out / access the wires / plug in new divice etc .
Of course many mounts out there .
