Removing props underwater

I need to remove both damaged props off Aquamatic 280 sterndrives for repair but unable to lift boat out (Fairline Mirage 29).
Is it possible to remove props whilst still underwater and is the bolt through the cone an Allen head or slot screw. How does the cone unfasten.
Any help appreciated.

Don't do it in deep water!
Put a weighted bucket on a rope underneath.

Better still go for a small tarp with a brick in the middle and set up under the props. You will drop things. Use a couple of poles off the back of the boat to get it in the right place..
