removing old winch

Been meaning to replace the main winch on the mast, as the old one is a bit knackered, but I couldn't work out how to get it off!
Has anybody got any experience of this sort? It is a lewmar single speed. (which is obvious now I look at the photo!)
Any advice more than welcome.

remove the spiral ring clip around the handle socket with a small screwdriver or knife the whole drum will then pull off

Then you will find the screws that fix it to the mast.

I assume you were cleaver enough to find the fixings on the winch base plate,I ,thought you were anyway
