Any ideas please? Washing with mild detergent removes it temporarily but it soon returns (caused most propbably by the warm air emanating from the cabin). I thought of trying a proprietary bathroom mould removing spray but wondered whether this would contain bleach or some other agent that could damage the material. Any experiences?

I have sprayed mine with the 3 in 1 Mould Killer (eg Polycell) with no apparent ill effects. It does not contain bleach as such and not only stopped mould reappearing but also over a period removed the black spots from the previous infestation

I was recommended a product called 'Lysol' it comes in an aerosol can and is used in hospitals etc to kill 'germs, viruses, mold and mildew". Tad over the top but it appears to work on fabric too! Sprayed both our spray hood, which had gone green over the tropical rainy season and a set of oilies. After a couple of days the green and black had distinctly faded. Then a good clean and almost like new! Now I regularly spray those items that are prone to mildew and it is working a treat...

polycell 3 in 1 mould killer stops it from coming back. Also good on teak decks, it stops the green mould from developing if you put it on every 6 months . From Focus or B&Q
