Removing MD1 flywheel NUT

My MD1B came out on a chainhoist dangled from the boom. The only problem was sliding it back out of the way of the coachroof. I never did get the flywheel off.

I think it's 32mm and loosened it with a sharp blow with a sledge hammer. I've got a puller for an MD1 which you can have if you want it (and I can find it).

I have removed one of those nuts from an old scrap md11c - I think it was a rh thread. Easiest to knock it loose with a lump hammer and chisel in my experience. Getting the flywheel off the taper is a game too - tension it with a puller and then hit the shaft hard with the same lump hammer. With luck it may come off with a bang, with less luck it may fall on your foot, beware.
