Hi
I have a Sidepower bow thruster and would like to change the two anodes, but I can't seem to get the old ones off.

I can remove the securing bolt ok and I have given the anodes a good spray of WD40, removed all the barnacles that were attached and the only tool that I can get a bit of a grip on them is plumbers wrench but I can't them to budge.

Any advice/experience of members would be welcome.
Thanks
Mark

The anode is a tight fit. As I recall, it fits on to a hex and needs to be pulled straight off. If you take an old screwdriver and put a 90deg bend near the end, you could perhaps use it to lever the anode off.

Drill a hole in the anode, put in the largest self-tapping screw that you can and then pull on the screw with a Mole wrench or pliers.

I tried both pvr's way and peterboaters way.

First time I had to drill a hole. Replacements I put on with grease relying on the securing screw for electrical continuity that I check with a meter.

Replacements have come off with the bent screwdriver that I also use to remove Yanmar impeller.
