Remove stuck prop?

Just done two props on Broom with 1.75 shafts and a pair of 4 blade props.
Curious (to me ) two lock nut system with split pin.
Max pull on prop and apply gas torch equally all round boss.
Gave couple of taps with hammer .No movement
Took at least 10 mins of heat before prop suddenly went bang.
Was told that in the case of very reluctant props , leave puller on over night, sometimes does the trick.
The big upside is it does not scare the pants off you when it finally goes.
Always leave a nut on the thread.
Who ever did them last put them on dry.
Recently did the cutless bearings on a Broom 38 - same double nut and split pin method. Those props popped straight off!
It’s annoying as I’ve probably done 30 props with my current pullers and mapp torch, so this is a pain and up to the limit of my current tooling. Maybe an excuse to buy more toys. I mean tools.

We use 2 mapp torches, you need to get a lot of heat in quickly, 1 is usually not enough.
Lots of tension on the puller, big bash with a big hammer & if all else fails, go for a coffee, having turned the torches off!
Often enough it will be on the floor & a lot less swearing.
