Remove rubber fittings from Hypalon?

One of the D-ring davit lift points on my hypalon Achilles inflatable has broken through the rubber. I have one to replace it, but how do I get the original off? Hair dryer/heat gun perhaps? Any input welcome.

Heat gun is suggested by the adhesive manufacturers Polymarine. Have a look on their website.

Gentle heat and blunt scraper should release the glue. Have successfully use hairdryer in the past. Careful preparation and right conditions (ie not cold/damp) are critical to the new one staying on.

Went round the RNLI inflatable lifeboat depot in Cowes, a few years back admittedly. A hot air gun was what they were using to disassemble the boats coming in for repairs.
