Hi guys,

anyone know if Furlex foils (200s) are separable from the forestay? and if the the foil can be de-rivetted for storage? Or when its on the stay, does it have to be stored complete?

Im switching to Hanks, but want to keep the Furlex in storage if I ever wish to change back. Would be nice to avoid buying another forestay, but I thought that the 200s had an internal bottle screw type thing as well?

thanks!

Yes

See section 17
You have to shorten the forestay by a few mm each time to remake the end terminal. It might be better to get a new forestay for the hank on sails depending on the current age of the furler and stay.

I thought thatd be the case, the furler and stay are about 3 years old which is why I was keen to reuse the stay, but the previous owner who had the new mast and rig fitted has had a second bottle screw under the furler fitted anyway so it looks like a new stay is in order anyway. I will still need to dismantle the furler for storage but then the length of the stay is less critical.

Thanks!
