Removal of raw water pump on VP 2003 engine: is it dead easy, even for an engineering numpty?

Not easy as they rely on the pipes being in tension to retain them if they have just O Rings

Thanks! Any advice on the un-tensioning the pipes then re-tensioning ? I just got a copy of the workshop Manual.. printing it out tomorrow.

I prefer them in compression, they then stay put. It can sometimes be interesting getting the sequence right with some.

I have never seen the manual as I usually just get involved when folk at the marina get stuck. I then explain the logical process and together we sort it. there are some parts of the system that if you jump a step then only brute force might get the pipe into place if you have put something back prematurely. When done correctly everything slips into place and is secure .

The original question was in regard to the water pump. The connections are in line and opposite sides of the body. If the pump is difficult to remove then it may be necessary to remove another item in line to free the pipes.
