for the first time i am to change the anode on my 110s saildrive
fitted with a fixed 2 blade prop, having looked i can see no obvious signs of how to remove. i have removed the bolt from the end of the cone.
now i need to remove the cone ! is the cone a sliding fit or does the cone act as the nut securing the prop ?. i do not wish to do any damage trying to use brute force.
any advice truly welcomed.

Best to jamb a piece of wood between the prop and hull to steady the gear as you apply a large screwdriver or suchlike through the hole in the cone.

The two screws in the anode require careful extraction or you will strip the screw slots. Make sure the screwdriver gets a good bite on the screws. I have seen them removed with a hammer screw reverser, but there are risks in applying shock force.

Whilst at it, check the S drive oil of course, and be sure to replace the washer on the oil screw at the base of the gear.
Oil should be replaced every second season - usually synthetic because of the stresses in the drive.

There are two oils asociated with the 110 so I was informed. Take note if the oils red or non coloured. I do not know the reason for the difference only that i was told it was important to apply the correct oil by the folk in the yard last summer.

The owners manual for the engine should also give the oil required by the sail drive THIS PAGE from the VP website also gives the oil for this drive and others (Engine oil it appears for the 110S)

The VP owners manuals can be downloaded from HERE I think they will also give brief instructions for changing the anode(s)
