removable inner forestay

what is the clasp type fitting that attaches the removable inner forestay to the deck fitting called?
where could I get one at a reasonable price?
any second-hand ones out there?

Why fit a second hand one that is probably knackered anyway.

a standard pelican hook is the thing used for guardrails. it doesn't provide any tension. the thing you want looks very similar but incorporates a highfield lever for tensioning. of course that means it's a lot more expensive!

when you use it to set a storm jib you don't want it to break through fatigue so if you buy a secondhand one you should get it checked by a rigger for micro cracks. having said that, second hand ones will probably have had very little use.

We use a snap shackle. As mentioned in a previous post, pelican hooks are for guard rails and are expensive. Never had to put the storm jib to the test though yet.

Dunno, but make sure you have a Highfield lever to tension it up instantly.

What does a Highfield lever look like. My inner forestay has what I thought was a big pelican hook. By big I mean about a a foot or slightly more long. Is this similar?
