Here’s another tipTip - Tension leaver to the point where you can't quite 'flip it over' then put a slot in the end of an old bit of copper pipe that you have laying around and use that as an extension on the leaver. ?
Drill a 3mm hole in the end of the handle and tie a loop of stout cord through it and use that to start the release process when you’ve done with the inner jib- it can be a bugger just trying to prise open the bare handle when you’ve wanged the tension up really high !
If the OP cares to fit a 4 part downhaul tackle to the tack of the staysail, he can augment the luff tension (and shape )that way too.
