Removable inner forestay tension?

Tip - Tension leaver to the point where you can't quite 'flip it over' then put a slot in the end of an old bit of copper pipe that you have laying around and use that as an extension on the leaver. ?
Here’s another tip
Drill a 3mm hole in the end of the handle and tie a loop of stout cord through it and use that to start the release process when you’ve done with the inner jib- it can be a bugger just trying to prise open the bare handle when you’ve wanged the tension up really high !
If the OP cares to fit a 4 part downhaul tackle to the tack of the staysail, he can augment the luff tension (and shape )that way too.

I used to sail on a boat that had a wheel attached to the bottle screw. That was great. One just turned the wheel which rotated the bottle screw to apply/release the tension. Trouble with these systems is that one has to play with a clevise & pin to fasten to the deck eyebolt.
A highfield lever just flips through a loop, turn the lever up & job done. Far the quickest option & nothing to drop overboard.

Simply put... the fact that it is removable demonstrates that it is not essential for holding the rig up... its only purpose is as something to hang a sail on... you could set a storm sail on the same halyard with no inner forestay at all . The important bits are the running back stays.

I take my runners right aft ... my storm jib sheets to a point frd of the jib sheets.

That is a concern, but can be solved in various ways.
I made a PBO style kind of toggle for the bottle screw that has a captive rigging bolt. The slot to the right is keyhole shaped. No loose parts to drop.
