In the process of assembling parts for an eberspacher install.

Not sure I want to cut into the main fuel tank & add the fuel stand pipe. So are there any restrictions on adding a remote fuel tank in the engine bay.

The filler is mounted directly on the tank & breather would be run to a skin fitting.

Engine is diesel but I will be running eberspacher on parafin for a cleaner burn using the remote tank.

Advice appreciated as always.

I've thought of using an O/B tank, or a jerry can with a tapped in fuel take off. An advantage of a removable tank is that you can take it to be filled, obviously, and the bulb allows the line to be primed.

Anyone else tried this?

A removable tank may annoy the eber if any air gets into the feed line. They can take a long time to purge the line, and may shut down if it takes too long. You can help avoid this by putting in a clear inline filter which collects the air, the fuel being drawn from the bottom.
hope that helps.

My supply has been T'ed into the engine fuel line after the primary filter since I installed it many years ago. Has never given a moment's trouble. With some filters there is a blanked off port for this purpose, saving the problem of finding a suitable T piece.
