I was impressed how a fellow singlehander returned my dropped boat hook.

He stood amidships handed it to me using his autohelm remote to control the course . He tells me he uses it with success to pick up moorings.

Just wondering if there is some kind of remote device suitable to control the throttle on an outboard or suchlike.

TIA

If you are looking for a wireless remote control for outboard throttle you will need a proportional servo control as used in remote control model planes and model boats.

The model servos will be much too small for the throttle on your outboard.

Look up servo motors.

I have wiper motors and gears are valve acturators and the run/stop leaver on my diesel engine.

You'll have noticed that you link you gave is only for the hardware kit (the servo and throttle linkage). You'd also need to buy the wireless transmitter and receiver, which probably cost another $350 or so.

Oh I did not release that as I looked at the picture and it showed the controller at the top and a box at the bottom which I took as the outboard control box

My mistake then.

Walmart also hows the same picture
