My bow thruster is a Nobel’s electric unit originally supplied by Aquafax. I’ve been in touch with both companies but neither can recommend a suitable remote control unit that will enable me to operate it when away from the helm.

Anyone any suggestions?

no idea for the specific one, but tbh any 10quid chinese remote with 2 channels will work!
you wire the two NO contacts to the spot where the wires from the helm reach the bow thruster and you're fine.

I did the same when I couldn't find a remote for my passerelle and wasn't prepared to pay 200euro for just one remote from Quick. works a treat now for the last 3yrs.
Got a 4 channel one UP DOWN IN OUT and 6 remotes. Son destroyed the one, still 5 to go :D

cheers

After reading a post on this forum I purchased a 30€ winch control which I wired to my bowthruste button. One thing to whatch out for though is that the original control usually has a timer to delay the switch from left to right. I never got to the bottom of this but my bow thruster motor failed and I always wondered if it was due to me switching direction to quickly on the remote. Great for single handed mooring. I can keep the bow in place while sorting out the lines aft. I just keep in mind that I have to give it a second before switching to the other direction.

depends on the thruster. Mine (ql800 iirc) has the change direction delay circuitry built ON the bow thruster and not on the helm control. So no problem there (other than I don't have a remote control for it...)
