I get the feeling that your job title in your profile involves you marketing said product. You're average user doesn't need to keep plugging a product.

By the way, your boat name doesn't show up on the Mars database - why don't you have a radio licence??

Unknown call sign

Tsk, tsk. And if you were challenged by coastguard (does happen) where would you be? Or perhaps you're just not licensed?

Re: Unknown call sign

WELL EVERYONE MINE AIN'T!!!!/forums/images/icons/mad.gif

My registered name for my boat is 'Indiana of Glasgow', And i can't find it there.

If the coastguard stop and ask my callsign then i shall tell them immediately, as it is printed on the licence disc on the port side of my boat. YES I AM LICENCED..
I use the boat name when call on the radio, and not the call sign, so i usually forget what it is.,

Re: Unknown call sign

When did you register radio? Will take a while to go through system if recent. If you registered long while ago - do search on call sign and see if that shows. If call sign doesn't show, then PM Mike Martin and ask him to fix

Re: Unknown call sign

Sorry for teasing. Actually, though, CG will occasionally ask your call sign if you radio in and will always ask if you make a safety call (passage plan). So you do really need to memorise it if you expect to have any contact with CG.

Re: Unknown call sign

Yes Brendan, i've only had the licence for a couple of months, so i presume they only update the records every once in a while..

I'll give it till end of year and if not on it then i will pm Mike for his help.

Cheers.

Re: Unknown call sign

Thats interesting, I didn't know that, I shall memorise it at the weekend when i go back to the boat, and you can test me next week.

BTW. I don't really get much contact with the CG, When sailing in Loch Lomond....

Cheers..

Alistair...
