Anyone know if I can get away with using PTFE spray as release agent for epoxy and Polyester resins. A bit limited with what I've got on board.
Got no silicon sprays aboard except possibly wife's hairspray.
Ideas welcome;-)

I wouldn't use silicon spray, even if i had it onboard. I always used mould release wax. Put a couple of coats on, same as if you were polishing the car. If i was doing it, i'd dare risk a couple of coats of a decent wax boat polish, although i can offer no warranty that it'll work :)

EDIT : You mentioned hairspray, see here http://www.westsystem.com/ss/mold-release-pva-and-hairspray/

What's the surface you want to release from, and what sort of shape?

Big difference between peeling resin off a flat surface of polished non-porous material versus extracting it from a deep mould. I reckon PTFE would work fine for the former (you'd probably get away without anything at all, for that matter) but for the latter I'd want plenty of wax and blue PVA.

Like i said, I'm limited to what's aboard (sailing). Alas, mould release and car wax don't feature;-)))
