Registration of Tenders in Foreign Bureaucratically-Obsessed Lands

Another example of wrong reading of the rules. The latest version of IRPCS is published by MCA at http://www.dft.gov.uk/mca/msn_1781-2.pdf. It is very clear that Rule 23 (d) (i) allows sidelights and a single all round white light for boats below 12m.
But not just a single mast-head light. No sidelights, Talbot [smiley: yawn]. (Unless, maybe, they all carry emergency sidelights).

P.S. Another curiosity: when in Reykjavik, I noticed many Icelandic yachts don't carry lights at all. Then the penny dropped - they only sail in summer, when there is no night.

So much good information -- thanks everyone!

No one has any concrete experience of NL, Germany, Sweden, Finland? So few Baltic sailors here?

My experience of Sweden & Finland is that when anchored you jump ashore to the nearest rock. :)

If you had said that in the first place I would not have had to waste my time
Apologies Talbot. I realise I've messed you up at another point in this thread when I made a correction (after foolishly first quoting from memory, and then checking), which cross posted with your reply correcting me.
